Decline of Britishness...?

I'm with you that I don't believe the, "they're banning everything British" crowd, but what has made people nervous about things like St. George's Day, is not the celebration of the day, it's the parading of a flag which was for years hijacked by the right and drunk out of their mind England football 'supporters'. All those moaning about lost Britishness were nowhere to be seen when the Union Flag and Flag of St. George were hijacked, is it suprising that it'll take a few years for people to ociate it with something other than the NF/BNP/footie drunks on tour?
