My uncle is getting deployed overseas...he has an SR-22 on file but will expire in a couple of months. He sees no point in paying for the insurance if he is not going to be here for a year. He thinks that if he lets it expire, the only thing will happen is that his license gets suspended, and he can just pay a fine for reinstatement when he returns and gets SR-22 again. Is he right? (He figures its cheaper to pay reinstatement of 200 or so than pay over 1200 for the year to insure himself)
