um sorry to not be of much help, but I thought the Azumanga Daioh anime was good, but can't find the manga anywhere to compare it to. But as a suggestion, you should try Kamichama Karin, Fruits Basket (anime not very good), or Pretear. But for the most part the manga is always better!
