Will Apple Warranty cover this?

I bought and Ipod 2g a month ago. I notice that when I first got it and turned it on, I could see that there was a space on the right side where the screen and metal encasing should meet. So whenever I would turn the Touch on, I could see light coming from the space. It wasn't big when I first got it, but now it looks like the screen is moving farther apart from the metal encasing. I have no doubt that an apple specialist can tell that this is manufacturing mistake (nothing I did). But I just want to know will apple give me a new ipod touch under the limited warranty? How will I be compensated?
